owners: Mike, Clay (on vacation celebrating his DFFL Championship)
The
Commissioner stated that while there were no re-tabled issues from the last
AOM, there was one issue that needed to be discussed before the 2025 season
started:
1 – Last
season we brought in Team QB’s instead of individual QB’s.
Do we want to keep that in or go back to individual players?
Keep Team
QB: Brian, JPL, Rob, Marina, Matt, Carl/Susan, David, Sabu, Garts
Go back to
individual QB:
Non-Voters:
Mike, Clay
*Proposal
was decided unanimously
2 – Commissioner
advised that despite not remembering where the waiting list to get into this
league was, he recently had someone else ask to go on it. This prompted the
Commissioner to ask if anyone was planning leaving this season, if anyone was
interested in joining a 2nd CFFL (should that happen) and finally if
anyone had any other people in mind who might be interested in joining:
Returning
this year: everyone that voted
Interested
in joining CFFL 2.0: Brian, Darcman
May possibly
have others interested: Matt
Non-Voters:
Mike, Clay
3 – Should
we start the season in Week 1 or switch to Week 2:
Week 1:
Brian, JPL, Rob, Marina, Matt, Carl/Susan, David, Sabu, Garts
Week 2:
Non-Voters: Mike,
Clay
*Proposal
was decided unanimously
4a – should
we add punt singles to the ST/D scoring:
Yes: Brian,
Carl/Susan, Sabu
No: JPL,
Rob, Matt, Marina, David, Garts
Non-Voters:
Mike, Clay
*Proposal
is voted down and does not pass
4b – Brian
made a proposal to switch to Team Kickers (punter & place kicker) and all
the things this would help and hinder was discussed
Yes: Brian,
Sabu
No: JPL,
Rob, Matt, Marina, David, Carl/Susan, Garts
Non-Voters: Mike,
Clay
*Proposal
is voted down and does not pass
5 – Brian
proposed that we award the QB .5/completion (rounded down as we do with the
RBs):
Yes: Brian,
JPL, Rob, Marina, Matt, Sabu, Garts
No: David,
Carl/Susan
Non-Voters:
Mike, Clay
*Proposal
passes for immediate implementation
6 – Clay proposed
that we change the QB scoring from 1 point for every 50 yards of passing to 1
point for every 25 yards of passing like TSN does in their league as it seems
to be more suitable for such a high-profile position and our QB scores tend to
be a bit low.
Yes: Clay,
Brian, Sabu, Rob, Carl/Susan, Marina, Matt
No: David,
Mike
Non-Voters: JPL, Garts
*Proposal
passes for immediate implementation
7 – Clay proposed
that we implement a cumulative scoring system, adding both the rushing and
receiving stats into one. The Commissioner advised that since all the scoring
is done manually and (more importantly) the CFL’s stats are filled with errors
and change quite often, that would be way more work to do the scoring for both
the Commissioner and The Command Center and all that extra work would only
amount to an extra point here or there and neither the Commissioner nor The
Command Center thought this was a worthwhile venture as long as we do the scoring
manually.
Yes: Clay, Sabu
No: Brian,
David, Mike, Rob, Carl/Susan, Matt, Marina
Non-Voters:
JPL, Garts
*Proposal
is voted down and does not pass
The Commissioner officially closed the floor for new
business, thanked everyone for their promptness in replying since no one knew
this AOM was being started when it did and yet, in just a short amount of time,
there were things that were already resolved and good discussions were being
had.
The Commissioner then went on to do his Commissioner
Report.
The Commissioner went over the finances, advised that all
the prize money had been paid out immediately and that the league balance was
at zero.
The Commssioner advised that he
wanted to remove the $10 for the division Runner Up and offered 2 different
payout options. One that just gave the Division Champion the extra $10 and one
option that changed all the payouts but also detracted from the amount that the
Commissioner would get for running the league.
The vote was 10 – 1 for giving the Division Champion the extra
$10 and leaving things the way they are as far as what the Commissioner gets
for running the league. The Commissioner was very grateful.
Normally the Commissioner would have taken this time to
advise of the new divisions for next season, but forgot lol.
The
Commissioner said that he would advise everyone once the site was updated with
the changes from the AOM, divisions were set and schedule was done and
officially closed the AOM.
If anyone
has any questions or concerns, please either e-mail me, leave a post on the
league message board, or contact me directly.
Thank you
all for all your input and attention to detail, that is what makes this league
such an enjoyable league to play in. Good luck to all of you in the upcoming
2025 season!
JSN CFFL
Commissioner,
Darcy
“Darcman” Antonissen
