2025 DFFL2 AOM

Feb 5, 2025

Attending Owners: Garts, Shawn, Rowe, Brian, Rob, Carl, Susan, Brendan

Non-Attending Owners: Sabu

Commissioner stated that there were no re-tabled issues from the 2024 AOM, but did point out that he made a sudden rule change mid-season and that needed to be discussed.

1 – After a supplemental draft, teams will now have until kickoff of the early Sunday afternoon games to make any trades and to be at their roster limits. This rule was implemented to give the teams more than just 1 day to make trades and moves to improve their rosters.

Keep the rule in place going forward: Garts, Shawn, Rowe, Brian, Rob, Brendan, Carl, Susan

Kill the rule:

Non-Voters: Sabu, Brian

Rule will stay in place for the foreseeable future

2 – The Commissioner advised that we need to revisit the rule that was implemented last year of a 1 point/first down.

Keep as is: Garts, Shawn, Rowe, Brian, Rob

Change to .5/first down: Brendan, Carl, Susan

Non-Voters: Sabu

Rule will stay implemented, but Commissioner is re-tabling it again for discussion at next AOM as he feels that it should be at .5/first down

The Commissioner opened the floor for new business:

3 – Because of the way the votes went in point #2 and the discussion that ensued, it was agreed that we would vote for 1 pont or .5 again:

Keep at 1 point: Brian, Shawn, Rowe, Rob, Garts

Change to .5: Brendan, Carl, Susan

Non- Voters: Sabu

Rule will stay implemented, but again, it is re-tabled for discussion at next AOM

The Commissioner closed the floor for new business and presented his Commissioner’s Report:

1 – Finances:

The Commissioner advised that all prize money was paid out the morning after the completion of the Championship game.

He also advised that with the 1-year reduction in league fees, the extra money that had been put aside for the wrestling belt (that we never got) has now been used up and fees will return to $70 for next season and forward.

Commissioner got $17.64 for running the league last year and the pot is now back to $0.00

2 – New Announcements:

The Commissioner announced that effective immediately the prize payouts will remain the same but all supplemental fees will be removed. This means that there will no longer be any extra charges for supp fees but that does greatly increase the chances of the league fees needing to be increased if the dollar continues to tank and/or the website fees increase at all.

Note: On March 22/24, I was informed that the cost of the website is going up this season and beyond. That may have an impact on all future league fees. I plan on purchasing the leagues early this season so that I can get a discount for this year, but please be prepared for a fee increase for the 2026 season (we will discuss at the AOM of course). I will be waiting until after the 2025 season concludes and see where the league is sitting financially before suggesting that we increase the fees.

3 - Draft Order:

Here is the 2025 DFFL2 Draft Order as per a previous email that I had sent out.

I will ensure that the draft board on the Darcman site is in the correct draft order as posted above. Also, the above draft order is already entered on the MFL site.

4 - New 2024 Divisions:

In this league divisions are broken down yearly. The Champion gets placed in one division and the Runner up gets placed in the other division. The remaining teams' week 14 standings are then used and the teams finishing overall at spots 3, 5, 7 & 9 get put into the Champion's division and teams ranked 4, 6, 8 & 10 get put into the Runner Up's division. The 2025 Divisions look like this:

East:

Atlantic Bucs, Midnight Voodoo, Inglorious Bastards, She-Devils, The Smoking Guns

West:

Vampires, The Brotherhood, The A-Team, Dumber Luck, Stingrays

The divisions have already been set up on the site.

5 – Miscellaneous:

The trading freeze was lifted at the conclusion of the NFL Super Bowl.

Just a reminder that there are no roster limits during the off season.

Thank you to everyone for diligently posting your lineups and submitting your picks for the Supplemental Drafts.

Thanks again for all your efforts!
