2025 DFFL3 AOM

Feb 5, 2025

Attending Owners: Brian, Ryan, Mike, Chad, Mark, Rob, Rhonda, Garts, Sabu, David

Non-Attending Owners: Fred

Commissioner stated that there was 1 re-tabled issue from the 2024 AOM to discuss.

1 – Should we adopt a .5 or 1 point per first down achieved scoring method.

Yes: Brian, Ryan

No: Mike, Chad, Mark, Rob, Rhonda, Garts, Sabu, David

Non-Voters: Fred

Proposal did not pass and will not be re-tabled

The Commissioner opened the floor for new business:

2 – From the message board. We had added a .5/rushing attempt to everyone last year except for the QB position, do we want to add that position?

Yes: Mike, Chad, Mark, Rhonda, Sabu

No: Brian, Ryan, Rob, Garts, David

Non-Voters: Fred

Because Fred didn’t vote, the voting resulted in being deadlocked. The Commissioner decided to not cast the deadlock breaking vote and will re-table this issue to the next AOM in hopes that everyone votes next season.

3 – David suggested that we switch our league to run on the Sleeper app instead of MFL. He even volunteered to pay for the effort it would take.

Yes, use Sleeper: David, Mark

No, stay with MFL: Rhonda, Brian, Ryan

Abstain from voting: Rob, Garts, Chad

Non-Voters: Sabu, Fred

Switching to Sleeper is a massive project and while I am willing to do it, I want to ensure that EVERYONE is on board before discarding our entire league history and spending all the time to switch as much over as possible. I also made a list of guidelines to follow if we did switch (ie: pay me what we would have paid in website costs for all the time invested in switching the league over, etc.). The votes clearly did not reflect that this is a time to change, so the proposal does not pass.

The Commissioner closed the floor for new business and presented his Commissioner’s Report:

1 – Finances:

The Commissioner advised that all prize money was paid out the morning after the completion of the Championship game.

Commissioner got $8.64 for running the league last year and the pot is now back to $0.00

2 – New Announcements:

No new announcements this season

Note: On March 22/24, I was informed that the cost of the website is going up this season and beyond. That may have an impact on all future league fees. I plan on purchasing the leagues early this season so that I can get a discount for this year, but please be prepared for a fee increase for the 2026 season (we will discuss at the AOM of course as this may expedite us switching to Sleeper). I will be waiting until after the 2025 season concludes and see where the league is sitting financially before suggesting that we increase the fees.

3 - Draft Order:

The draft order in DFFL3 is determined as follows:

- positions 1 - 6 (teams who did not make the playoffs) are determined by PF as of the end of the regular season

- positions 7 - 10 (all playoff teams) are determined by when they were eliminated from the playoffs, with the team with the lower PF being ranked higher

- position 11 is the league runner up and position 12 is the league champion

- there is always a message on the message board outlining all the details that is updated as the playoffs progress and are completed

4 - New 2024 Divisions:

In this league divisions are changed every season. The teams are selected by a school yard pick by the 3 division champions in order of performance with the highest ranked division champion picking first and so on. This is NOT a serpentine picking method. This season the 3 division champions were Grape Crush (Mark), The Boneyard (Garts) & 4th Down Syndrome (David), the divisions were selected as follows (in no particular order):

Division 1:

Grape Crush, D-Generation X, Lorena Bobbit, Tailgaters

Division 2:

The Boneyard, Sputnik 5, The Troglodytes, Spider Pigs

Division 3:

4th Down Syndrome, The Hart Foundation, Fist Of Destruction, Show Me Your TD's

The divisions have already been set up on the site.
