Rhonda, Susan & Carl
Non-Attending
Owners: n/a
Commissioner
stated that David Kirby was taking over for Fred’s team and that while there
were no re-tabled issues from the 2025 AOM, we did need to re-visit a couple of
implemented rule changes.
1 – Should
we keep the All-Play schedule voted in last season or move away from it in
favor of a more traditional schedule?
Keep the All-Play
schedule: Mike, Rhonda, Jeff, David, Chad, Garts, Susan/Carl
Go back to
the traditional schedule: Wayne
Non-Voters: Clay
All-Play
schedule will stay in place for the foreseeable future
2 – The
Commissioner discussed if we should continue to pay out records annually.
Yes:
No: Wayne,
Mike, Rhonda, Jeff, David, Chad, Garts, Susan/Carl
Non-Voters: Clay
Records will no longer be paid out annually in the DFFL
and the money used for that will help offset website costs
The
Commissioner opened the floor for new business:
3 – The Commissioner
advised that since the website costs have risen higher and quicker than
anticipated, he has lost money running the DFFL recently. Removing the annual
record payout (#2 above) will help slightly, but he suggested raising league
fees and let the owners decide on how much. This ended up being a vote, then we
got discussing something else, then we returned to this in #7 below).
Yes, but
only $5: Susan/Carl
Yes, but a
bigger increase for bigger prize money: Wayne, Mike, Rhonda, Jeff, David, Chad,
Garts
Non- Voters:
Clay
Nothing really was decided with this vote. We did
decide on an amount later in #8 below
4 – The
Commissioner asked how we wanted to determine draft spots in order to make
things a bit more fair for everyone. He offered the following options:
Use PF only:
Rhonda
Keep using
the current H2H way: Susan/Carl, (this was also Wayne’s 2nd choice)
Use the
DFFL3 method (non playoff teams are given draft spots based solely on PF, then
the rest of the teams are assigned draft spots as they are eliminated from the
playoffs, also using PF as well): Wayne (on a trial basis), Mike, Jeff, David,
Chad, Garts
Non-Voters: Clay
We
will use the DFFL3 method of determining draft spots, but we didn’t select when
that would start until #8 below
5 – Chad
proposed that we remove the RB scoring changes that were voted in on a trial
basis last year. (the change was adding .5/rush and including the RB position
in FPPR).
Yes, remove
the .5/rushing attempt: Chad, Wayne, Susan/Carl, Clay, Jeff, Garts
No, leave it
in:
Non-Voters: Rhonda,
David, Mike
Proposal
passes for immediate implementation
6 – The Commissioner
advised that if we were taking out the .5/rushing attempt for the RB, then we
should also return the RB position to HPPR, from FPPR.
Yes, back to
HPPR: Chad, Clay, Mike
No, leave it
as FPPR: Susan/Carl, Jeff, Garts, David, Rhonda, Wayne
Non-Voters: none
The
RB position will remain as a FPPR like all the other positions
7 – The Commissioner
broke down the expenses & income for the DFFL and asked how much of an
increase to the league fees the owners wanted (based on the votes from #3 above):
Leave at 70
and revisit next season:
Increase
$10: Jeff
Increase $5:
Susan/Carl, Chad, Clay, Garts, Mike, David, Rhonda,
Wayne
Non-Voters: none
League
fees will increase $5 effective immediately and payouts will remain the same.
The Commissioner will re-evaluate after the 2026 season.
8 – The
Commissioner revisited the results of the votes from #4 above and asked when we
wanted to implement the DFFL3 method of assigning draft positions:
Implement
immediately for the 2026 season: David
Implement in
one year in the 2027 season: Garts, Chad, Jeff, Clay,
Mike, Susan/ Carl, Rhonda, Wayne
Non-Voters: none
The
DFFL3 method of draft pick assignments will begin in the 2027 season on a 1-year
trial basis
There was no
more new business, so the Commissioner closed the floor and proceeded with his
Commissioner’s Report.
Commissioner’s
Report:
As there
appears to be no more new business in the DFFL 2026 AOM, here is the
Commissioner's Report. If there are no questions regarding it, then I will
officially close the AOM by Tuesday morning.
Thank you
all in for all your help in making the AOM a success.
2026 DFFL
Commissioner’s Report:
1 –
Personal:
Because of
some issues that arose last season in multiple leagues (some of it my own
fault), fantasy football left a sour taste in my mouth and I almost pulled a
Cam and completely walked away from all fantasy football at the end of last
season. However, thanks to both of my co-Commissioners in the DFFL Franchise for
talking me off the ledge (and also thanks to my wife’s
advice), here we sit, still active.
However, I
am stating publicly here that I am currently only signing a 2-year contract
with the possibility of an extension at the end of those 2 seasons. If there is
anyone who wants to take over as Commissioner of the DFFL Franchise, please
reach out and I will take you under my wing and teach you all you need to know
to properly run these leagues with a lot less effort than I put into them. I
completely understand that because of my medical situation, I have way more
time to dedicate to fantasy football than the rest of you, but I am at least
giving you guys a warning that 2026 & 2027 MAY be the final seasons in all
the leagues if no one wants to take them over. We will discuss that more once
the dates get closer.
2 –
Finances:
All
requested prize money was paid out the morning after the completion of the
Championship game.
Commissioner
got $1.24 for running the league last year and the pot is now back to $0.00
League fees
increasing by $5 this season will hopefully ensure that there are no more
increases in the near future.
I have
already shared all the finances in the AOM discussion, but as always if anyone
wants a copy of the financial statement, please feel free to ask.
3 – New
Announcements:
Fred left
the DFFL, David (a.k.a. The Better Looking and Much Smarter Kirby), took over
his team.
4 - Draft
Order:
As per our
AOM, this is the last season that we will use the record/H2H method of
determining draft order. Below is the current order and how it will be in the
2026 Annual Draft. Below that, is how the draft order would have looked like
had we used the DFFL3 method (what we are switching to after the ’26 season)
this season so you guys can see how it makes a difference and what it looks
like.
Official
2026 Draft Order:
1 – David
(previously Fred), 9 – 19
2 –
Susan/Carl, 10 -18, lost H2H vs Wayne
3 – Wayne,
10 – 18, won H2H vs. Susan/Carl
4 – Clay, 11
– 17
5 – Mike, 13
– 15, lost H2H vs. Rhonda
6 – Rhonda,
13 – 15, won H2H vs. Mike
7 – Chad, 17
– 11, lost H2H vs. Jeff
8 – Jeff, 17
– 11, won H2H vs. Chad
9 – Darcman,
21 – 7, league runner-up (man that still sucks to type that!)
10 – Garts, 19 – 9, 2025 DFFL Champion!
The draft
board on the Darcman site is already updated. I will also email a copy out as
it already looks wonky with some picks. If anyone ever needs an updated board,
feel free to reach out and I will email you one. Also, if you are not sure if
you have a certain pick, you can just look it up on the site. The above draft
order is already entered on the MFL site.
Here is how
the draft order WOULD HAVE BEEN had we done it the DFFL3 method this season:
1 – Wayne,
1710 PF
2 – David,
1769 PF
3 – Clay,
1848 PF
4 –
Susan/Carl, 1903 PF
5 – Mike,
1931 PF, eliminated in 1st round of playoffs
6 – Chad,
1941 PF, eliminated in 1st round of playoffs
7 – Rhonda,
1990 PF, eliminated in 2nd round of playoffs
8 – Jeff,
2005 PF, eliminated in 2nd round of playoffs
9 – Darcman,
2025 Runner-up
10 – Garts, 2025 DFFL Champion
So, not a
LOT of difference, but there are some changes as you can see. Hopefully this
helps explain how this works better than me just saying it. Any questions,
please feel free to reach out.

Miscellaneous:
The trading
freeze was lifted at the conclusion of the NFL Super Bowl.
Just a reminder that there are no roster
limits during the off season.
Thank you to
everyone for diligently posting your lineups and submitting your picks for the
Supplemental Drafts.
Thanks again
to everyone for all your efforts in the 2026 DFFL AOM!
No one had
any further questions or comments (not even about the Commissioner only locked
in for 2 more years), so the Commissioner officially closed the 2026 DFFL AOM
