Commissioner
stated that David has reluctantly left the league as it is difficult for him to
get CFL info in the USA. Taking his place is Chad Penny
1 – Brian
would like to revisit being able to start a Global Designated Player as our
Canadian starter. Despite this proposal being voted down previously, he is proposing
it again.
Yes: Brian, Garts, Mike, Clay, Sabu
No: Marina,
Matt, Rob, Carl/Susan, JPL
Non-Voters: None
(Chad abstained from all voting)
Votes were deadlocked and the Commissioner agreed to
re-table the proposal to the next AOM for the final time
The
Commissioner opened the floor for new business:
2 – Brian
proposed that we implement a variation of the ‘Clusterfuck Rule’ in the DFFLs
where you get 2 bonus points for any scoring play over 50 yards. He is
proposing that we bring that rule over to this league but have it as 3 points
for every scoring play of over 50 yards in this league. The Commissioner advised
that while he doesn’t mind the idea, it is not a trackable stat by the CFL and
that we would have to go through every single scoring play to see if any were 50+
yards which means a lot of extra work in an already high scoring league, and
really would not like to do that.
Yes: Brian,
Matt
No: Clay, Garts, Marina, Mike, Rob, Carl/Susan, JPL
Non-Voters: Sabu,
(Chad abstained from all voting)
The
proposal does not pass
3 – The
Commissioner continued on Brian’s proposal and stated that a performance bonus stat
that could be tracked much easier would be to award a +/- 2 points if your Head
Coach won or lost by 50 or more. Winning by 50+ would give you 2 bonus points,
and losing by 50+ would lose you 2 points. This would be in addition to the
current HC scoring grid.
Yes: Brian, Garts,
Marina, Carl/Susan
No: Matt, Mike,
Rob, Clay, JPL
Non- Voters:
Sabu, (Chad abstained from all voting)
Since the vote could not achieve quorum, this proposal
will be re-tabled to the next AOM
4 – The
Commissioner asked if we should use 3 game weeks as bye weeks for our league?
We had a long discussion on the league message board about this and many pros
and cons were brought up
Yes:
No: Brian,
Marina, Matt, Rob, JPL, Carl/Susan, Mike, Clay
Non-Voters: Sabu,
Garts abstained, (Chad abstained from all voting)
Proposal
does not pass
5 – Further
to the above point, as Mike & Garts did on their
own last season, the Commissioner proposed that effective immediately, there are
to be no more 3 game weeks included in the 2-week home & away Championship
games. All other games (regular season & playoffs) will use 3 game weeks as
normal.
Yes: Garts, Marina, Mike, Rob, Clay, JPL, Carl/Susan
No: Brian,
Matt
Non-Voters: Sabu,
(Chad abstained from all voting)
Proposal
passes for immediate implementation
6 – The
Commissioner asked if we should implement some form of the defensive scoring
grid like we have in the NFL leagues
Yes: Rob
No: Brian, Garts, Marina, Mike, Clay, JPL, Carl/Susan
Non-Voters: Sabu,
(Chad abstained from all voting), Matt had questions about what the grid would
look like so he didn’t vote
Proposal
does not pass
7 – The
Commissioner asked if we should limit the use of RBs to a max of 2 (instead of
the current rule which is that the max is the same as the number of CFL games
in that week) ONLY during playoffs
Yes: Marina,
Matt
No: Brian, Garts, Mike, Rob, Clay, JPL, Carl/Susan
Non-Voters:
Sabu, (Chad abstained from all voting)
Proposal
does not pass
8 – Susan proposed
that we change the QB scoring from .5/25 passing yards to .5/20 passing yards
Yes:
Carl/Susan, Garts, JPL, Marina, Sabu, Rob, Clay
No:
Non-Voters:
Matt, Brian, Mike, (Chad abstained from all voting)
Proposal
passes for immediate implementation on a 1-year trial basis
There was no
more new business, so the Commissioner closed the floor and proceeded with his
Commissioner’s Report.
2026 JSN
CFFL Commissioner’s Report:
1 –
Personal:
Because of some issues that arose last season in multiple leagues (some of it
my own fault), fantasy football left a sour taste in my mouth and I almost
pulled a Cam and completely walked away from all fantasy football at the end of
last season. However, thanks to both of my co-Commissioners in the DFFL
Franchise for talking me off the ledge (and also thanks to my wife’s advice),
here we sit, still active.
However, I am stating publicly here that I am currently only signing a 2-year
contract with the possibility of an extension at the end of those 2 seasons. If
there is anyone who wants to take over as Commissioner of the JSN CFFL
Franchise, please reach out and I will take you under my wing and teach you all
you need to know to properly run this league. I completely understand that
because of my medical situation, I have way more time to dedicate to fantasy
football than the rest of you, but I am at least giving you guys a warning that
2026 & 2027 MAY be the final seasons in all the leagues if no one wants to
take them over. We will discuss that more once the dates get closer.
2 – Finances:
The Commissioner advised that all requested prize money was paid out (or
transferred to DFFL accounts as requested) after the Championship game scores became
official.
Because this league has an open book policy when it comes to individual
accounts, everyone’s account broke down as follows:
Mike: ’26
fees prepaid, account at 0 (credit transferred to DFFL)
Garts: ’26
fees prepaid, account at 0 (credit transferred to DFFL)
JPL: ’26
fees prepaid, account at 5 credit
Darcman: ’26
fees owing, account at 20 credit
Carl/Susan:
’26 fees owing, account at 15 credit
Clay: ’26
fees owing, account at 5 credit
Rob: ’26
fees owing, account at 0
Sabu: ’26
fees owing, account at 5 credit
Brian: ’26
fees owing, account at 5 credit
Marina: ’26
fees owing, account at 5 credit
Matt: ’26
fees owing, account at 10 credit
Chad: ’26
fees owing, account at 0
A handful of
owners forwarded their credit to me as a tip, thank you to all of you, it is
not necessary but much appreciated.
League fees
($60) and prize money all will stay the same for the 2026 season.
The trophy
was engraved and is sitting at my house. I will make arrangements with Mike to
drop off the trophy to him. I also fixed an engraving error on Clay’s plate.
The current
league balance is $0 as per previous AOMs.
3 – New Announcements:
David left the league and Chad Penny has taken his spot for the 2026 season
4 - New 2026
Divisions:
In this league, divisions are constructed evenly based on the finishing spots from
the regular seasons. The number in brackets below is the overall place you
finished in the league out of 12 teams.
Chad will
assume David’s spot.
The
divisions look like this:
West Division: Mike (defending Champ), Marina (4), Rob (7), Matt (10)
Central Division: JPL (3), Chad (6), Carl/Susan (9), Sabu (12)
East Division: Garts (runner up), Darcman (5), Brian
(8), Clay (11)
6 – Miscellaneous:
The 2026 schedule will be the same one that we have used the past couple of
seasons and the reason for that is because it works lol. Every team has 7 home
& 7 away games and they play everyone in their division twice and everyone else
once. I do fully realize that there are a couple of teams who will start the
season on the road 2 weeks in a row, but that’s the luck of the draw. It’s
better to get your away games out of the way asap anyway.
The season
will start the weekend of June 4.
Susan wanted
to have noted on the Scoring page that Team QB scores are done by calculating
each individual QB separately then adding them all together to determine the
Team QB score. As this wasn’t a proposal persay, I didn’t
bother bringing it up at the AOM, but will just do as she wants and it will be
on the 2026 version of the scoring page.
I will email
everyone when the site is updated and ready to go for the 2026 season.
Thank you to
everyone for diligently posting your lineups on time.
Thanks again to everyone for all your efforts in the 2026 JSN CFFL AOM!
The
Commissioner then officially closed the 2026 JSN CFFL AOM
